I’m a Dermatologist — Here’s Why The Longevity Line Is a Standout

Are you looking for a way to address your fine lines and wrinkles but can’t or don’t want to use a retinol? TruSkin has always been committed to the importance of skin nutrition, so it makes sense that the Longevity Line focuses on the ingredients needed to help address signs of skin aging as well as ingredients that help to slow down the process.

Some signs of skin aging may include fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots and discoloration, and dullness of the skin. While the aging process is dependent on both intrinsic and extrinsic factors, our skincare routine can help, which is why I love the new Longevity line from TruSkin. It helps to address these signs without leading to skin irritation or sensitivity.

The Unique Ingredients

1. The thoughtful combination of ingredients in the Longevity Line help to address different aspects of skin aging. One of the key ingredients, bakuchiol, is a plant-based retinol alternative that has been shown to be as effective as retinol but more gentle on the skin, and less likely to cause irritation. It works to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

2. It also contains snow algae, a unique ingredient that works to slow the skin cell aging process by activating a key longevity gene naturally found in our body. Something interesting to note with this ingredient is that it is a botanical that thrives in the Arctic temperatures of the Swiss Alps by going into hibernation. Similarly, when used for the skin, it can mimic a longevity gene in humans that puts the aging process in hibernation, slowing it down.

3. Helping to reduce puffiness, the line also contains coffeeberry, which is rich in caffeine.

4. The lingonberry stem cells have been shown to protect against blue light damage, which can occur through exposure to the sun or through our digital devices like computers and phones. It is known that blue light can contribute to oxidative stress and worsen signs of skin aging, including the potential to worsen pigmentation.

How to Use

The whole line is easy to incorporate into a daily skincare routine as it is easy to apply and gentle on the skin. I recommend using the Longevity Serum 1-2 times per day, and it is best to apply it after cleansing the skin and prior to using the Rejuvenating Longevity Moisturizing Cream.

The Depuffing Longevity Eye Cream is a great option for 1-2 times per day, and I especially love the cooling applicator which help to instantly reduce the puffiness. And in combination with the key ingredients including caffeine, bakuchiol and the antioxidants, it works to brighten the undereye area and improve the appearance of dark circles. This line is a great option for those of all skin types, including those with sensitive skin, as it won’t cause irritation.
